Victor Cole joined the Centre for Biomedical Ethics (CBmE) in May 2015 under the National Research Foundation’s “Funding Initiative for Capacity Development in Biomedical Ethics in Singapore” and from October 2016 will serve as Programme Director.
Victor received his doctorate from the Monash University Centre for Human Bioethics, having previously trained in Education at Oxford University and Critical Theory at Nottingham University. He has held academic positions at NUS since 1997, serving as Lecturer, Senior Lecturer and Associate Director with the Centre for English Language Communication before joining CBmE.
Victor’s key research interests are in human enhancement ethics, natural law theory, neuroethics and ethics in extreme environments.

Victor has also served as a facilitator/trainer in workshops for biomedical researchers, institutional review board members, dentistry undergraduates and physiotherapy diplomates and as a mentor to high school students in bioethical inquiry.
