‘On Trace’ (2008). Catalogue essay for Trace, an exhibition of portraiture by Susie Wong, remarking on beauty and death in photographs. The essay explores the human significance and fate of beauty in contemporary times, touching on issues of mortality, and the cosmetic and decorative arts.
